The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa salaam said:
“ When one of you makes dua he should not say, ‘O Allah, forgive me if you wish, have mercy on me if you wish, give me provision if you wish’, but he should ask with resolve because he does what He likes; no one can force Him.” (Bukhari)
